Italics (حروف كج)
Italics (حروف كج) در موارد زير استفاده مي شود:
1- براي جلب توجه خواننده به تأكيد عبارتي از متن
Examples:A
1- The Battle of Bayt-al-Muqaddas was fought in May 1985, in three phases.A
2- According to the linguist Steven Pinker, "Many prescriptive rules of grammar are just plain dumb and should be deleted from the usage handbooks" [emphasis added]. A
3- Standard English usage requires “insensitive” rather than “unsensitive”.A
A4-Lemmings have, not two, but three kinds of sex chromosome.A-
2- ذك عناوين كامل آثار كتاب ها، فيلم، نشريات، قطعات موسيقي،... به استثناي اسامي كتب مقدس
Examples: A
We saw a performance of the Messiah on Saturday. A
Chomsky's book Syntactic Structures revolutionized linguistics. A
Spielberg won his Oscars for Schindler's List.A
3- ذكر كلمات خارجي در متن جمله ي انگليسي
Example: The German word Gemütlichkeit is not easy to translate into English. A
4- كلمات انگليسي كه جمله در باره ي آن ها صحبت مي كند
